There are things that every doctor prefers to keep secret. We took a close look at them

Full waiting room, too little budget and many old people. Doctors are often overwhelmed. This is due to a laws and health insurance, but also to the aging of our society. Often we feel this as a patient. Even the best doctor gets to his limits from time to time. But no matter how busy your doctor is, you should always know the truth.

Do you sometimes feel that your doctor is keeping things from you? Or deliberately not told, because that could raise questions again? We have collected some facts that physicians prefer to keep silent about their patients.

1. Anything you can buy without a prescription will help you a little or not at all.

One day, a liberated doctor told me: Anything you can buy without a prescription does not help anyway. I was very surprised. He probably did not mean pain medication, because its effect can be understood quickly. However, in drugstores and pharmacies, there are plenty of funds that make the pharmaceutical industry rich, but the patient is not healthy.

Combined flu remedy, which should simultaneously fight cold, fever and joint pain, Stiftung Warentest considers "unsuitable". Here better resort to painkiller and nasal spray.

2. Doctors themselves are afraid of the doctor

Many doctors prefer to take self-medication than to visit another doctor. In a Swiss study of 1, 784 doctors, one in five said he did not have a family doctor. One in two respondents said they did not visit a doctor last year. Ninety percent of the doctors preferred to treat themselves.

3. Doctors are not vaccinated

The German Medical Association follows the vaccination guidelines of the Robert Koch Institute. But many doctors do not seem to follow these guidelines. Although they vaccinate patients, but according to a US study with 4000 doctors, only half of all vaccinated against hepatitis.

4. Many investigations are superfluous

Especially with private patients, doctors earn money that goes into their own funds. So why not order here one or the other investigation more. How should the patient also classify which examination makes sense and which does not.

5. Even without an insurance card, treatment is possible

Have you ever forgotten your health insurance card at home and you were told that you can not be treated without it. Doctors need to treat you without an insurance card. In an emergency anyway, but also a routine checkup can start without a card.

The insurance card can then be handed in within ten days in practice. Some doctors are probably afraid that they will stay at their expense for patients without a card.

6. Not every medicine that could help a patient is prescribed

Many drugs are simply no longer in the doctor's budget, which is prescribed by the health insurance. That said, a particularly expensive drug could possibly be prescribed, but it is too expensive to fit into the budget. Then the patient is often referred to a specialist. He may prescribe the expensive drug.
