Since the 19th of January, the signs in Cologne are all about furnishings. The world's largest furniture fair imm cologne has opened its doors - and we've already taken a look around.
As every year, the imm cologne in January has the hottest trends in furnishing, lifestyle and innovation. Together with the kitchen event LivingKitchen, which takes place for the fourth time at the fair, over 1, 200 international exhibitors will be showing their latest interior creations for a week. What colors can we expect in 2015 in our home? How will the furniture look in the future? What visitors and trade visitors will now see at the furniture fair, perhaps tomorrow beautifies your own living room.
In people's lives, the so-called "work-life balance" is becoming increasingly important. You can also feel that in the lifestyle trends of 2015 . What used to be functional only has to meet other demands today. As family and leisure is becoming more and more important to many and work is more in the background, it can be really cozy at home. People flee from everyday life and feel their free time as a kind of holiday from the daily stress. In the past, sofa cushions in a uniform look - rigidly juxtaposed - were simply intended for leaning on, today they are combined wildly in different colors and sizes on the couch, taking them as a support for the laptop or for cozy abchilling on the floor in front of it. Our facility is generally made looser. Gone are the days of dining ensembles or bedroom wall unit bed combinations. Individuality is now very important. You can sometimes mix styles - or place chairs of different colors around a large dining table.
Color wise, we say goodbye to neon colors and pops. It may be quieter at home again. Covered natural shades, such as brown, beige, cream but also blue and delicate rose are very popular and can also be mixed well with each other. For those who like it happier: splashes of color provide copper orange and yellow.
Also announced: different furniture, wallpapers and home accessories that give us the feeling of vacation. This can be floral prints, or for example tulip wallpaper - then it may like to light a bit.
Another lifestyle trend in 2015 that can be admired at the imm cologne : the furniture is getting slimmer again. In fashion are just looks in the vintage style of the 60s and 70s in. Often these trends can also be found in the living area - as now. Retro designs with tapered legs or armrests are now much to see again and remind us a bit of our childhood.
There is also something new in terms of lighting: Lamps are not just pure light sources, but should be understood more as design objects. Intricately designed, they often seem like an art object in their own living space. Important here: above all, the new lights should provide indirect light to increase the comfort factor in the rooms. Especially technically, there have been some innovations in this product field in recent years. The trend is towards a taxable home. Via App, we will not be able to turn off and turn on lights in the future, no matter where we are. Heating, shutters and Co. will also cease their manual operation in the coming years.
