Fabrics make furniture. Depending on the design, they give them a fresh, exotic or romantic outfit and put them back in the limelight. Apart from his optical talent, upholstery fabric also offers a tangible plus: cuddle up in a fabric-covered armchair - it adapts well to your body temperature. High proportions of natural fibers such as wool and silk make upholstery particularly pleasant to the skin, as they absorb moisture and release it again. The more chemical fibers are woven, the less sensitive is the upholstery fabric. The quality of a cover depends on its material - and how it is made.
Woven fabrics - flat and pile fabrics: In the flat weave, two groups of threads cross at right angles and overlap alternately. The longitudinal thread is called "chain", the transverse thread "shot". Pol (also called Flor) is the third dimension that is interwoven with both: upright yarn loops protect the ground fabric and give it a velvety surface. With the same material composition and stress, pile fabrics are more abrasion resistant than flat fabrics.
Knitted fabrics: They are made of mechanically interwoven stitches. There are two types of knitting: the killing is similar to knitting, the knitting is more like crocheting.
Flocked fabrics: Their surfaces look velvety to suede-like; her pole is not woven, but fixed on a textile carrier fabric.
Microfibre fleece: 10, 000 meters of its microscopically fine fibers weigh between 0.8 and 1.2 grams. The surface is similar to that of flocked fabrics. Among its advantages is that it is extremely easy to care for and extremely resilient.
