It pays to look the stars on the fingers - and especially on the nails! Lady Gaga, Fergie or Rihanna have plenty to discover there: for premieres and galas, the ladies turn their fingernails into real works of art.

While Lady Gaga stands on sharp, rhinestone-clawed nails, Nicki Minaj puts on colorful plastic nails in neon colors. Katy Perry wears cute patterns and even had the face of her ex-husband on her nails. And Serena Williams does not even like to do without tennis when playing tennis.

We particularly liked the nails of Zooey Deschanel, whom she had painted for the Golden Globes 2012 with small mini tuxedos. Also, Alexa Chung green glitter nail art, which she wore in September 2011 at a fashion party, we find extremely chic.
Who wants to make a statement with the nail polish art, but should be a little careful. At a trial in July 2010 Lindsay Lohan wore the words "Fuck U" on the middle fingernail - and that was not particularly positive for the judge or the press.
