Pretty sporty

Being fit is the trend? These new sports also include blobbing, stools and cross bocce

Trend sport 1: Stools

Throwing, catching, balancing, jumping or sitting: It looks like a mixture of skateboarding, acrobatics, juggling and breakdancing, allows hundreds of tricks and tricks and yet has a very down-to-earth name: stools. The trend sport, invented by the brothers Michael and Stephan Landschütz, trains the upper body, the arms, and lets people practice indoors, just like outside. What you need: The approximately 2-kilo-heavy plastic stool, whose design is incidentally awarded the IF Concept Award 2009, the DDC Prize in bronze and the Bavarian State Prize for young designers. And if you get tired of stools (sitting), petern (throwing) or toppings (stool-kick), the stool also offers you a comfortable seat.

Tip: Since 2006 there is a championship in stools in Kiel, the "Hocktoberfest".

Trend sport 2: Blobbing

A bit of courage is needed, until the Blobber, thanks to Jumper, dares to make his first jump from the blob. You only understand train station? We introduce you to blobbing! The structure of this fun sport is as follows: A large, filled with air rubber hose floats on the water, the Blobber sits on the end of this air cushion, while the jumper is located on a diving platform behind it. The jumper now jumps to the front of the blob, the blobber is catapulted into the air and lands in the water!

That one does not put such a device in the front yard, is self-evident: the Blob is on a tour of Germany.

Trend sport 3: Crossboccia

At the thought of boccia or boules awaken with us memories of former South France holidays, sleepy marketplaces and red wine glasses, to older men and silver balls in the evening sun. Crossboccia now combines these romantically yellowed summer souvenirs with the adventurousness of parcour or crossgolf.

The key difference: the special nature of the balls. In crossboccia, granular-filled 115 gram cotton balls are thrown over stick and stone into town or terrain.
