The actor Walter Sittler openly talks like never before about his father's worries

interview

Actually, actor Walter Sittler (59) has already left behind what Commissioner Robert Anders is going through: the puberty of the children. In the interview, he takes a look back and reveals amazing insights. Not only about raising children, but above all about yourself.

The new episodes include Commissioner Anders as father. Is father-being the biggest challenge in life? Walter Sittler: It's one of the big challenges. Above all, you can not learn this cleverly, but it depends on how far you have already met and developed yourself. Whether you forgot that you yourself were small or not. It is also an incredibly good school. You lose a bit of the extra focus on yourself, though I hope I've never had it so strong. Anders' children are in the middle of puberty. No easy time for parents ... Walter Sittler: We had a few emotional, unintelligible outbursts. But that is quite normal and that is different for the boys than for the girls. The Benedict just needed time for himself and by doing so, he could grow up in peace and could somehow bridge all these bumps. Everyone did it differently. But we had no cracking doors, no undressing, no staying for weeks and then come back crying. The kids always liked to come home and then they retreated. You do not understand that, but that's the way it is. Did you feel that the girls had more to protect them than your son? Walter Sittler: I always want to protect my children first of all, and that's not good at all. The children have to have their own experience, and luckily I have a wife who also said, "Now let's do that. They are now seven and go to school alone. That means they walk alone across the street, where there is a pedestrian crossing. "That's the beauty of being a couple. You do not have to do much. You just have to be there and nurture and nurture them. They already grow by themselves, as Erich Kästner says. So you had to learn to let go? Walter Sittler : Yes, and I had to learn not to want the children to become like a picture I have in my head. But the children have to become what they are, not what I believe they should be. And do you think that you managed that quite well? Walter Sittler : I hope I have not made too many dramatic mistakes. I also made mistakes, sure, but then you have to ask the children. They know that better than me.
