Carl Thompson, the thickest man in the UK, was only 33 years old

He weighed over 400 kilograms at the time of his death. How did the 33-year-old Carl Thompson become Britain's thickest man ?

As Kent Online reports, Carl Thompson died yesterday. The 33-year-old achieved notoriety as Britain's thickest man. He died in his apartment in Dover.

A neighbor told Online Magazine that the police and the fire department needed several hours to get the body out of the apartment.

The police confirmed that they did not consider the death of Carl Thompson, despite his young age, suspicious. He weighed 65 stones at the time of his death, that is the equivalent of 412.75 kilograms.

Doctors had already warned Thompson that he had to lose at least 285 kilograms, otherwise he would die. But he did not take off. He even publicly inquired for help to reach his target weight of 127 kg.

During his lifetime, Thompson described himself as a food addict. Even as a three- or four-year-old child he had gone down to the kitchen at night and plundered the fridge and cupboards. As an adult, he ate about 10, 000 calories a day.

In May, he said publicly, "Do not eat so much junk food or you end up like me!"

And the way he ended is really sad: The man with the title "Greatest man in Britain" lived alone in his flat. He himself could barely move, he had not left his apartment for more than a year. Caregivers came twice a day to take care of him.
