Two insiders tell you what you wear, where you shop and how you live.

Imperfectly perfect: Berlin is the city of construction sites - and this raw state is also reflected in the style of the capital: just not too perfect and geschniegelt, rather washed out or holey jeans, silk dresses with open hem, rough boots in used look.

The top ten Berlin beauty tips can be found in the gallery:

Understated luxury label, XXL logos and a lot of Bling Bling finds the Berliner embarrassing - after all, the capital is an artist-city and not a fancy financial metropolis. For the casual look, the capitalist goes on a treasure hunt and finds in ballet stores strappy pumps or in the equestrian business pompous sweaters and parkas. At flea markets or in vintage stores, she earns antique earrings and unusual clutches. With these accessories she gives her outfit an individual touch.

Naturally beautiful

The Berliner is not a chick. It dispenses with thick make-up, push-up bras and extensions. She has a rosy complexion from cycling, her hair looks like it has been dried out by the wind and her underwear does not touch anything and should not flash.

Basics in Berlin

1.Parka: Basic number one for the Berliner, to survive the Siberian winter. When it's warmer, she resorts to light cotton parkas without fur in olive tones. Popular: US Army Shell Parka "M 51" or the good old Bundeswehr parka.

2. Jeans: During the day a boyfriend model (for example from PRPS) with peep toes and fitted short blazer, in the evening a dark tube with heels and silk blouse.

3. Blazer: Black, Gray or Dark Blue. Combine with XXL scarf, which looks more casual. Wear a plain shirt instead of a blouse underneath, roll up the sleeves and put on a nice bangle. For the black classic best patterned harem pants fit.

4. Knitted sweater: Coarse-meshed to ecologically, plus a pretty necklace, chic pants made of brocade and pumps.

5.Leather jacket: Absolutely in the biker look, black and waisted. With this part, the Berliner drifts everything down, which could look too chic or elegant with Blazer.

6. White blouse: Wide shirt version, preferably worn over the jeans. The classic: silk blouse by Kaviar Gauche.

Hey, jut! Style breaks are deliberately styled

Norwegian pullover + leather leggings + lace pumps instead of blue jeans and flat lace-ups - or do you want to look like an eco-edge?

Army jacket + Bright pumps instead of jeans with blazers and ballerinas - Berlin is not a business-look-city!

Tuxedo jacket + skinny jeans + silk blouse + sandals instead of two pieces - way too madamig!

Evening dress + leather jacket instead of bolero and pashmina scarf, that looks stuffy.

Trench coat + shirt dress + nude wedges + instead of jeans, which is classic but also boring.

Sweatshirt + mini skirt + Nike sneakers instead of blouse and high heels - just not too sexy!

Dos and Don'ts

+ High quality materials

+ Statement chains

+ Jute bags from Kultur-events or hip shops

+ Men's shirts and unisex clothes (tip: roll up or put in the waistband)

+ Leo pumps

+ Covered colors in clothing

- too much bare skin

- Label boast

- Pearl jewelry

- Piercings

- Brooches (too trashy)

- T-shirts with "funny" sayings

- Colored tights

- Shiny down jackets

Kiek over

Currywurstbude: No visit to Berlin without the famous capital snack! The best sausage makes "Konnopke" on Prenzlauer Berg.

Café: In the "Röststätte", a coffee sommelier (!) Provides you with fair-trade hot drinks in a cool, rustic atmosphere - typically Berlin! www.pro-macchina.com

Bar: The "Le Croco Bleu" is located in the vaulted cellar of a brewery, is fairytale-like and the cocktails taste world-class!

Gourmet Guide: "Pickfein" offers gift baskets such as "Delikate Berlinette" with regional products, a city map and coupons of the manufactories, around 15 Euro, www.pickfein-stadtplan.de

This is how Berlin lives: robust, rough and improvised

Kreativwerkstatt (Creative Workshop): The Berlin girl lends a hand herself - and makes her bedside table out of a wine crate, the bed or a bulb out of wooden pallets plus a colorful cable.

XXL dining table: The focal point at home is a huge, solid dining table for working and dining. All around is a colorful mix of chairs, from wood to metal, from the stool to the design part, for example by Arne Jacobsen.

Flowers: Fresh cut flowers in a vintage vase or a few ranunculus in a jug - the Berlin decoration is ready!

Souvenirs: Ceramics from Tuscany or a seat cushion from India - a break in style here and there makes a simple interior exciting!
