The 'Californication' actor, who has his eleven-year-old daughter Madeleine and seven-year-old son Kyd with his wife, Tea Leoni, says he would often think about catching up with his doctorate in comparative literature. However, he considers that unlikely. "When I took off my career, I could not afford to invest more time in my doctor, but I'm still interested in literature, " explains Duchovny, who left Yale University without a doctorate. "I'd like to finish my job, but I know I never will, it's almost like I'm a surgeon, but that does not mean I'll have someone to operate on immediately." The 40-year-old bookworm has just finished a script Unfortunately, this is too time-consuming for a film. Now he's considering making a novel out of it. Duchovny says, "Unlike the Sunday Times, " things are floating in my head for writing and directing, but the scripts I write seem to be in the independent world I am turned me down 10 years ago when I finished 'File X'. " That's why it's not easy to produce films like the one he's dreaming of. Although Duchovny does not doubt its potential success, it is still difficult to make this clear to those responsible. "At some point, I think someone will seize the opportunity and give me the money for the production, " he says confidently. "I've been working on this script all over last winter and I think it's pretty rough, I do not know if it's suitable for a movie or not, I hope so, otherwise I'd put it in a novel."
