Now she is defending herself

Turning in the corruption scandal against ex-handball professional Iñaki Urdangarin (45): His wife Infanta Cristina of Spain (47) has successfully defended himself, thanks to legal help, against being included in the investigation as an accused. Yesterday her appeal was granted and her 27 April interrogation postponed indefinitely.

According to Spanish agency reports, the prosecution had previously filed an objection to the judicial decision to summon the princess. Thus, for the time being, the judges in Palma de Mallorca will have to continue the process without Infanta Cristina . The process is a novelty in Spanish history anyway. So far, in a corruption case has never been determined against a member of the royal family.

When Iñaki Urdangarin has to expect a verdict is also not yet clear. The son-in-law of King Juan Carlos (75) is accused of privately diverting millions of euros of public money through a charitable foundation.
