She hated her beard, today she can accept herself

Harnaam Kaur is 23 years old. Like every young woman, she loves to wear clothes, jewelery and beautiful make-up. But the Briton is different: She publicly wears her ladybeard.

It all starts when Harnaam Kaur is 11 years old. Suddenly, there is such a dark sprout in her face, and he does not stop growing. With the diagnosis Polycystic ovary syndrome her hairy problem gets a name. It is a metabolic disorder. About four to twelve percent of sexually mature women in Europe suffer from this syndrome. But most people will not look at it at first glance because they shave themselves every day to hide their blemish from the funny looks of others.

Even Harnaam Kaur tries as a teenager to stop the unusual hair growth. "I tried to hide it, I only talked to people when I put my hands over my face, I tried Waxing, but it was very painful, so I always shaved, tried different depilatory creams and even sometimes bleached ", she reveals in an interview with" bTV ". It's a hard time for the young girl. She is stared and insulted, even murder threats are pronounced against her. She begins to crawl into her room and secludes herself from the outside world.

But at some point it will be enough for Harnaam Kaur. At the age of 16, she decides to just grow her beard. The change of heart can be traced back to her belief. Harnaam Kaur is a member of the Sikh religion, which believes that the body remains in its natural state. "I was sick of people calling me insults, of feeling bad and constantly having these suicidal thoughts, just enough, " she continues.

Her joie de vivre wins over her supposed blemish. But her family is initially skeptical of their decision. Fears that the daughter would have a normal life, whether she would eventually find a man to marry or get any job she wanted to worry her parents.

The young Briton finds support in her friends and her brother, who accept her as she is. "It's just important to me that she's happy, that's the only thing that interests me, " says her brother Gurdeep. Meanwhile, Harnaam Kaur has earned a decent self-confidence. She is still staring at the street and sometimes thought to be a man, but she likes herself very much after all those hard years. "I am different - but I have learned to accept it".

Harnaam Kaur is bursting with self-confidence and was even photographed for "Rock 'n' Roll Bride Magazine" as a bride. Just as she is, with flowers in her hair and lace dress. With her message, she wants to encourage other women to stand by - no matter how difficult that sometimes is ...

This bridal shoot with Harnaam Kaur wants to be hitting the blog soon. Needless to say I at INCREDIBLY excited for you all ...
