The eye is the window of the soul. So who now adorns his home with flowers, his heart soon blooms. Franziska von Hardenberg from Bloomy Days explains how it works and what goes with it. In 2012, she started her start-up online with the help of crowdfunding. In the meantime, she is also delighting all flower and decoration lovers with the "Bloomen Shop" in Steinstraße 3 in Berlin-Mitte. In the interview she told us more about her flowery passion.
Which flowers, colors and plants are trendy?
In recent times, subtle pastel shades are very trendy. All in all, the focus today is much more on flowers than on bindings. The flowers should be small and delicate.
Which flowers are particularly suitable for decoration?
For a perfect table decoration I recommend tulips. These should be placed in the middle of a table vase on the table. This discreet but stylish decoration will definitely catch the eye of the guests present. At the moment peonies are also very good. They did not last that long, but they fascinate with their incredible beauty and are also among the most popular flowers in our subscription.
What to do if you do not have a green thumb? Which flowers are suitable for beginners?
For the new ones among the flower lovers I would recommend lilies. Since lilies are already very magnificent, you do not necessarily need to combine them with other types of flowers. Furthermore, they are very easy to care for.
How do you recognize fresh flowers?
Above all, you can see fresh flowers because they usually still have a closed flower. Furthermore, the interface must not be brown. If the leaves are yellow or the flowers smell foul, you better keep your hands off them.
How do you put together a pretty bouquet yourself?
It is important to treat your flowers with love, have fun in putting together and follow your own sense of style. There is actually no "nice" or "not beautiful". Nice is what you like.

How does my bouquet last a long time? Are there any tricks?
Of course, it is very important to cut the flowers every day and change the water. If you want to enjoy your flowers for a longer time, then you should give some fresh flowers into the water. It prevents bacteria from forming and gives the flowers the necessary nutrients.
Guests have spontaneously announced. How do you get a quick flower decoration?
As a decoration, if it has to go fast, I recommend two to three fancy long flowers. Here I can recommend ginger or kangaroo feet very much. These are then tied together with a nice ribbon and placed in a simple glass bottle.

Thats is quite easy. First you start the subscription on www.bloomydays.com and you can look forward to regularly delivered fresh, seasonal cut flowers. The delivery rhythm can be selected at intervals of one, two or four weeks. With the registration on the side every customer gets his own user profile. This profile can be easily managed and designed according to individual wishes. If you are on vacation you can simply pause or cancel the subscription, because there are no fixed terms.

What kind of vases should you have at home?
There are two types of vases that I would definitely recommend. For one thing, you should always have a tall and narrow vase at home. This is perfect for lilies or other long-stemmed flowers. Also, a wider, not too high vase for the table is very convenient. A diameter of about 20 centimeters is perfect, eg for tulips, roses or colorful meadow bouquets.
What are your favorite flowers?
I have to admit that I really love almost all flowers. Often this changes with me also seasonally. But I have an absolute favorite flower, the dahlia. I love their shape and the color variety.
How do you decorate yourself at home?
I love to decorate my home with fresh flowers. Every week I buy a large amount of flowers and arrange them in my apartment. I really like high flowers on the dining table. The dining room gets a completely different atmosphere when this centerpiece is perched on the middle of the table.
