At home on the net: the Decor8 blogger in an interview

New year, new luck and new style! Interior blogger Holly Becker of Decor8 reveals her best furnishing tips, where inspirations can come from and how to bring a lot of self into your home.

Holly Becker is regarded as the founder of decor8blog.com as the mother of the interior blogs: Since 2006, the native American woman has been providing about 48, 000 readers daily with deco ideas and news from the residential scene. In 2009 she moved from Boston to Hanover for love. Her light-flooded house there is open to anyone, as Holly Becker posts her colorful rooms and communicates with her readers. Her motto: mixing styles and eras. "My home is full of my favorite places, I love to travel to Copenhagen, Southern California, London, Sydney or Amsterdam, and then I mix different elements of these places back together to create a unique atmosphere." For Holly Becker this means: coziness that you can feel as you enter. "Home means love, harmony, respect, happiness and peace, you create lasting memories, you can be yourself here, and of course, the decor plays an important role."

For the residential professional, every detail, every room or even a whole house begins in their imagination. "I have always been referred to as 'very creative' and 'idea machine' and that's true, " says Holly Becker. "I can spot trends before they become mainstream, a real strength in my business, and I realized late that things are not all that way, and I appreciate that talent today, which also inspired me to write about design and mine So I can inspire others too. " Since 2010, Holly Becker, who gave birth to her first child in February 2014, is also a successful book author. And here shows how anyone with less "natural furnishing gift" can create a great home. "At the beginning, it's about collecting ideas, like Pinterest, sorting them into 'living room', 'kitchen' or 'sleeping', and after 20-25 pins per board, you'll know which way to go."

She too is very active in social networks like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest. Their online bulletin boards alone are followed by almost 226, 600 users. For Pinterest Holly Becker also curates the latest theme special, she is the face of the "New Year's resolution" campaign and inspired so many thousands of users to a creative year 2015.

No wonder, tips à la Holly Becker are simple but effective, such as putting candles in front of mirrors to double the luminosity. Or surf the Internet - and be inspired by the pictures on Pinterest, online shops & Co. "I love handmade things, like ceramics or paintings." For the interior stylist, a good mix consists of old design classics and new furniture, such as brands such as Muuto, Jonathan Adler, Liberty London or House Doctor. "In Germany, I like to shop online at Connox, ANTHROPOLOGIE.de, Impressions, Lys Vintage, Fashion For Home and West Wing."

Holly Becker herself is currently writing her fourth book, due to be released in spring 2016 in Germany. Also on the To-Do list for 2015: A new logo and a fresh look for their successful blog "Decor8". In short: Holly Becker has a lot on her notice, but we are sure that you will not run out of ideas.
