Mother shows her caesarean scar completely open

It is not the first time that photographer Helen Aller posts one of her pictures on Facebook. But she never expected that her current work would cause so much excitement.

A very special mother-child photo, taken just a few days after the baby's birth, is currently hotly debated worldwide. Because for this picture, a mother has decided not to hide their still very fresh caesarean scar. Mother and child are naked, completely natural. There is nothing hidden that could "disturb" the viewer's eye. This is precisely what makes the picture so special.

Behind the recording hides at least as moving story. Photographer Helen Aller, who shared the image on her Facebook page, met the brave mother a few weeks earlier when she had pregnancy pictures made. During the photo shoot, the two women exchanged and Helen Aller, also pregnant, learned that the expectant mother was terribly afraid of having a caesarean section. However, since she had already given birth to a child by nature, she tries to calm herself down, that certainly with her second birth everything would go according to plan. Unfortunately, the opposite was the case. The mother's fear became reality. Due to sudden complications, her child had to be born by means of an emergency caesarean section.

All learned when the mother called her after birth. But not only to tell her about her caesarean section, but also to ask her to take pictures of her. The image should be a reminder that the onset of her greatest fear ultimately led to her surviving the birth as both mother and child.

Only three and a half days after the birth of the child, therefore, the image seen below emerged. Since the photographer posted the picture on Facebook, it has been liked more than 202, 000 times. In addition, more than 32, 500 people have commented on the photo and more than 60, 000 have shared the photo.

Helen Aller and her mother would not have expected such a far-reaching effect. Many parents - especially mothers - have encouraged the image showing the caesarean section to share their own experiences and to talk about their own fears. As it has been shown, many women find it a stigma to have to give birth to their children by means of a cesarean section. They feel as if a personal mistake is responsible for not having their children born naturally.

Unfortunately, there are also some people who would prefer not to see Facebook anymore. They even reported the photo to the social media portal. But Facebook decided against removing the picture.

Helen Aller, however, is convinced that some negative comments are outweighed by the flood of positive feedback.
