Joint fashion brand with Topshop - from autumn 2015
Beyoncé and Topshop are launching their own streetwear brand. The sporty styles will be available from autumn 2015. What awaits us - and what decides this from other celebrity collections, we reveal here.
Beyoncé makes common cause with Topshop ! The result: your own streetwear brand. But this is not a normal celebrity collection - the singer is involved with 50 percent of the label. According to Topshop CEO Sir Philip Green, Beyoncé and he only lashed the deal last Friday. "This is not a collaboration, " he tells WWD. "It's about building a new brand, building an independent business - with its own operating costs and its own business premises."
The collection will include clothing, shoes and accessories inspired by dance, fitness and various sports. A fusion of fashion and high tech performance clothing. The business name "Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd" is derived from "Parkwood Entertainment", Beyoncés all-rounder company, which stands behind the whole machinery of the singer.
"I could not imagine a better partner to grow the Parkwood business, " says Beyoncé in a statement. "I've always loved Topshop for its directional fashion and I'm really looking forward to working with the team and being involved in every step of the way." The collection parts will be available worldwide in the Topshop stores as well as at www.topshop.com.
For Beyoncé it is not the first own fashion line. In 2004 she launched the label House of Deréon together with Mama Tina Knowles, named after grandmother Agnèz Deréon .
