"Ugly" is the nasty comment that an Instagram user wrote under the photo of the small Down syndrome suffering Quinn. Mother's Great Response to Insulting Her Disabled Son : She wrote an inspirational message entitled "To the Troll Who Called My Son Ugly"

Megan Davies Mennes posted the photo a week after little Quinn had recovered from an illness:

"We decided to sit in the garden and soak up some sunshine after school - there are not many things in the world that are more beautiful than watching your recently ill child shine and I shot a few photos to help him recover to celebrate."

In the said photo, the sweet Quinn looks with joy beaming into the camera and reaches out to his mother.

Underneath the user "JusesCrustHD" writes the word "ugly".

He certainly had not expected the reaction of the mother: Megan published a message on the Huffington Post blog - making the author of the comment look rather old!

"Dear @JusesCrustHD,

Since I started blogging about my son Quinn and his disability, I knew this day would come. There are a lot of common guys on the internet who hide behind the anonymity of their stage names and want to be cruel and I've met their hostilities many times (...) I do not mean to blame you, but I suspect they hardly know anything about the helplessness know that parents feel that have a sick child with breathing problems. "

The answer of the proud mother has class and gives again what many think:

"I find it hard not to get angry, but (...) I can not afford to feel anything but pity for an individual who has so little decency."

She ends her message with a plea that shows what a better world should look like in her opinion - we agree with her when she writes:

"Go out there, read a book, say something nice to someone, there are enough atrocities in this world, and everyone should strive to make this world better, not worse."

And:

"I just hope my kids learn to ignore others' ignorant comments and actions and treat others with respect and dignity, and we all deserve that, even you.

Sincerely, a proud mom. "

On Megan's blog and her Instagram account piling up now the approving and heartwarming comments. Here is a small selection:

"From one mother to another: I think you handled this situation wonderfully. I saw your message on Facebook and wanted to join the many supporting voices! "

"Dear Megan. Thank you for publishing this letter. (...) You are an inspiration. "

"Your child is beautiful. These blue eyes are incredible. Nothing about it is ugly! "

"Megan, I think you are great. We could use more people like you in this world. "

Also nice: This wonderful video on World Down Syndrome Day shows: Every child can be happy!
