The sex of the polar bear baby in the Berlin zoo is revealed: It's a boy! A name of the little Pupser has not yet. But YOU can also suggest one!

To fall in love! This 4.6-kilo cuddly little bear from the Berlin zoo was now fully checked: examine, weigh, measure, deworm, chipping - and of course still petting and playing were now on the agenda.
Mama Tonja (6 years old) and Papa Volodya, meanwhile, had to stay outside - after all, adult polar bears are often less cuddly and can become aggressive when people come too close to their baby. Understandable - especially with such a sweet Wonneproppen as this splendid specimen here, which is also Tonja's first child .
The little polar bear is still in the lair in this video below. It was born on November 3, 2016 - but only now could the little creature be properly examined. And not from anyone, but from the zoo director personally: Andreas Knieriem, trained veterinarian. With the investigation: polar bear keeper Detlef Balkow, who has already taken care of polar bear offspring. However, this little polar bear is something very, very special in the Berlin zoo. The last polar bear birth was here in 1994!
The most urgent question was: boy or girl? A professional look was enough to determine: This cute little polar bear will turn into a real polar bear guy - even if he does not sound that way now (see video)!
At the moment, the polar bear baby is still quite tiny: it measures just 61 centimeters, from the knobbly nose tip to the pompom tail.
In March 2017, the polar bear will be shown to the public. The little one does not yet have a name. The Berliner Zeitung, the Berliner Kurier, Radio 88, 8 and RBB Media have taken over the sponsorship for the Bärchen and let readers and listeners make name suggestions. The only requirement: The name should be as short and crisp as possible. The zoo director has a request to all proposers: "The adult bear should not be ashamed."
