Breathable cushions, blankets and mattress pads keep you dry and warm - creating a comfortable sleeping environment. Here are the most important things about material, care and comfortable extras.
The naked toes dare to stand out: in the bedroom it is 16 degrees cool - quickly back under the cozy blanket, where a comfortable temperature of 36 degrees prevails. The bed stores our heat, compensates for temperature fluctuations and absorbs the moisture that we evaporate at night. Quilted quilts nestle against the body without complaining. They allow free movement, but do not slip, so no cool air flows into the warmth nest and disturbs sleep.
For centuries , blankets such as pillows have been filled with feathers and down ; to this day, they are the most popular insulation material. Sheep's wool, camel hair, linen, poplar fluff or cotton also make the bed comfortable. But synthetic fibers are catching up: They are cheaper and, unlike natural fibers, do not release allergens. Bedding meets every need: Washable products are more hygienic for people who perspire heavily; Cashmere or wild silk flatter exquisite claims. Also for each season are special quilts in the trade.
Who likes to shiver under a thin summer blanket in winter and vice versa? Many manufacturers offer clever four-season beds made up of two differently filled blankets - the lighter ones for the summer, the warmer ones for the fall and spring. When they are combined with ribbons or snaps, they form an ideal winter bed. A mattress topper completes the decent cover below. If the ambient temperature is lower than usual in winter, the pad will guarantee comfortable warmth; in summer it prevents heat and moisture accumulation. The underbeds also protect the mattress and increase the sleeping comfort.
The cover fabrics are matched to the filling material, so that cushions and blankets optimally fulfill their task. The fabric must be so dense that the filling does not penetrate, but permeable enough to support the moisture transport.
