No long waiting times

No long waiting times! The Techniker health insurance company is testing the online consultation from September 1st. For whom is it suitable and how does it work?

For all who are annoyed by long waiting times at the doctor's, we have good news: The Techniker health insurance test from September 1 in cooperation with selected dermatologists the online consultation.

For whom is the online consultation suitable?

For patients who have already discussed the diagnosis and treatment personally with the doctor and are dependent on a check-up appointment. In most cases, a quick glance and a short conversation are enough to complete the therapy. The online consultation is also suitable when it comes to changing the medication, said dermatologist Klaus Strömer.

One could also imagine offering online consultation as a medical service in rural areas. Here physicians are often in short supply, explains Klaus Rupp, head of the TK supply management.

How does the online consultation work?

Prerequisite for the video consultation is a PC, laptop or tablet with internet connection and camera. Do you have? Perfect! Now you can log in to the virtual consulting room via your end device and wait for your doctor to call you. And so you do not miss your appointment, the TK has come up with something very special: a countdown that counts down from ten to one.

After the system has successfully passed technical tests, it should now be tested in selected practices. Gradually, the online consultation in all medical practices should be possible.
