Exclusive: your life in the extended family

Sometimes dreams come true - that could be a song by Andrea Berg (44), or the title of the script for her life. Her dream of a large family came true when she met football manager Uli Ferber eight years ago. "We got to know each other in February - and we moved to him in October", she recalls the love of lightning and the decision that changed her life. Because Andrea Berg not only married the man of her life, but his entire family in Kleinaspach: "We live with four generations under one roof - and that's beautiful, " she enthuses. "Of course there are sometimes different opinions, you can not only pick out the raisins, but when it comes down to it, you are always in good hands and protected!" Especially for her daughter Lena (12) has unimagined advantages, like Andrea Berg laughing admits: "If there's cauliflower at the grandma, Lena goes over to Aunt Renate, because the noodle soup has cooked." And before math works her stepbrother Andreas helps with learning.

"Unfortunately, extended families are now rare" An intimate family life, as it probably everyone wants. And for the most successful pop singer in Germany is certain: "Unfortunately, it is now very rare that many generations of a family live together. But for me that's the key to happiness! The extended family is a wonderful life model. If that were more common, not so many old people would die lonely and alone. " Since she founded a hospice in her hometown Krefeld, where lonely people are cared for in their hardest hours, Andrea Berg knows what she's talking about. Her philosophy is therefore: "to care for people at home. My parents and parents-in-law will definitely be home. "
