Big voices like hers are not made out of sunshine. But out of pain and intoxication. Amy Winehouse ultimately tasted her lifestyle. Now the cinema documentary "Amy" shows the music legend from another side.
Her look: unmistakable. Your life: uncompromising. Her voice: brilliant. If you want to describe Amy Winehouse, you need big words. None could sing better of heartbreak. And it is precisely this - and her weakness for excesses - that finally dwarfed the petite Londoner. She will still be remembered: on July 16, "her" documentary "Amy" will be released in the cinema.
She often seemed closer to death than to life. The film was commissioned several months after her death by David Joseph, the head of their record label Universal.
