Big voices like hers are not made out of sunshine. But out of pain and intoxication. Amy Winehouse ultimately tasted her lifestyle. Now the cinema documentary "Amy" shows the music legend from another side.

Her look: unmistakable. Your life: uncompromising. Her voice: brilliant. If you want to describe Amy Winehouse, you need big words. None could sing better of heartbreak. And it is precisely this - and her weakness for excesses - that finally dwarfed the petite Londoner. She will still be remembered: on July 16, "her" documentary "Amy" will be released in the cinema.

She often seemed closer to death than to life. Nevertheless, it was a shock when singer Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London apartment on July 23, 2011 - with 4.16 per thousand in her blood, as it later turned out. After a few posthumous songs have already appeared and been released together with cover versions in the album "Lioness: Hidden Treasures", now the movie comes into the cinemas, which shows the short life of the singer and Amy Winehouse in private: full of zest for life, charismatic and humorous.

Amy Winehouse herself probably would not have wanted the renewed attention. In a 2003 interview excerpt, she says, "I do not think I'm going to be famous, I do not think I could handle it, I probably would go crazy." The film was commissioned several months after her death by David Joseph, the head of their record label Universal.

Let's hope that Amy does not fare like Tupac Shakur. The rapper had to serve after his death for six more albums with repeatedly "last material".
