Bitchy wannabe models, elaborate photo shoots and a lot of clever sayings of the model Mama: So we know the model casting show GNTM in German TV . But the American version " America's Next Top Model " with Tyra Banks shows, thanks to a very special candidate, how diverse beauty can be.

In the upcoming season, launching in the summer of 2014, an aspirant shows how beauty works away from the ruling ideal. Chantelle Brown-Young, also known as Winnie Harlow, suffers from vitiligo, a skin disorder characterized by pigmentary abnormalities in the form of white, pigment-free skin patches.

In an interview, the 19-year-old says, "I want to become 'Americas Next Top Model' because it's my lifelong dream, I'm an outsider, and I want to prove that you can achieve your dreams despite all the mistakes and setbacks." A good message that does the superficial casting show well! "We're no different, " says Chantelle Brown-Young, "It's just the skin, some people are black, some are brown, I'm both."

The American version of "America's Next Top Model" broke with the rigid stereotypes of the modeling industry in the past few years: Six years ago won Whitney Thompson, the show's first plus-size model.
