Metabolism Diet

An intact immune system, more energy and above all the ideal weight - that promises a change in diet, which is based on their own metabolism. We reveal how Metabolic Typing works and present delicious recipes for each type.

Every body works differently, processes and tolerates food differently! That's why there is not the perfect diet for everyone. Dietician Ursula Wetter therefore reveals how the diet can be individually adjusted with the metabolic-typing system in her guidebook "Healthy weight loss according to the metabolic type".

In order to determine in the first step, which diet is suitable for which type, one must, however, deal with his four most important body systems (burns, nerves, glands and blood groups) very carefully. And although the explanations are admittedly a bit dry, you should not skip the first part of the detailed questionnaire.

Metabolic Typing - this is how it works

How quickly our body converts nutrients into energy can be broken down into three types of burn according to the nutrition experts: "slow burners" use carbohydrates very well (carbohydrate type), "fast burners" use proteins and fats (protein type) and "even burners" a mixture from both (mixed food type).

In the second step the nerve type is determined. The "Sypathicus type", for example, struggles with sleep problems, high blood sugar levels and has a lot of stress. The "parasympathetic type" is the exact opposite. Third, there are also the types selected.

Thanks to metabolism decrease

Thirdly, because certain foods can cause a hormone boost, which in turn can alter our metabolism, a look at the endocrine system is also very important. Ursula Wetter even sees this as a key to overweight. Pituitary, thyroid, adrenal or gonadal type - each gland type should avoid certain "problem foods". For example, the adrenal gland type would have to do without meat, sausage and alcohol. Its optical features: It is small and muscular and uses fat rather above the waist.

Finally, taking into account the blood group with all these data, the perfect diet can be determined, which is utilized optimally by the body. And thus also losing weight should be easier. For each type Ursula weather has also put together a weekly plan with delicious recipes. As a foretaste, we will each present a recipe for the carbohydrate type, the protein type and the mixed food type.

Carbohydrate Type: Fennel Carpaccio with Cream Cheese

This dish is also suitable for the mixed food type (possibly use full fat cream cheese) and thyroid and adrenal gland type.

Ingredients for four people

4 young, fresh fennel tubers, cleaned1 tbsp pickled green peppercorns, rinsed cold100 g low-fat cream cheese1 tbsp olive oil fresh herbs (chives, parsley, fennel herb)

For the salad dressing

1 lemon, 1 sprig of rosemary, lightly squeezed needles1 tablespoons olive oilSalt pepper from the mill

That's how it's done:

Peel the peel thinly from the lemon for the salad dressing and finely chop. Peel the lemon, remove the bitter white thoroughly and dice the flesh.

Heat the olive oil in a pan slightly. Put the lemon peel and the rosemary needles in a bowl and cover with the warm oil. Let it stand for ten minutes, until the oil smells aromatic. Drain the oil through a sieve, add the lemon cubes, salt and pepper.

Slice the fennel on the vegetable slicer into thin slices. Distribute on large, flat plates and pour over the lemon oil. Crush the peppercorns in a mortar. Smooth the cream cheese with the peppercorns and the olive oil. Remove the cam with two tablespoons and place on the fennel carpaccio.

Protein Type: cheese salad with black olives

With more vegetables and / or bread, this dish is also suitable for the mixed food type. The thyroid and adrenal gland can prepare the meal as per the recipe.

Ingredients for four people

250 g of fresh hard cheese, bark removed 2 sticks of tender celery with cabbage, small diced2 tablespoons cabbage, finely chopped2 small young carrots, diced or sliced150 g of green or black olives, cold rinsed, pitted, finely sliced3 tbsp pumpkin seeds, dry-roasted

For the salad dressing

5 tbsp cold-pressed olive oil2 tbsp lemon juice2 tsp coarse-grained mustard 4 sprigs of lemon thyme, peeled leaves1 / 2 bunch of smooth parsley, finely chopped

That's how it's done:

Mix all ingredients with the salad dressing. Cut the cheese into larger cubes. Mix with the vegetables and olives and add the salad dressing. Serve the salad with the still warm pumpkin seeds sprinkled. This fits farmhouse bread (1 slice per person).

Protein and fat: 345 kcal of cheese and oilCarbohydrates: 230 kcal of bread (70 g per person) and vegetables

Mixed food type: Beetroot salad with grapefruit

This dish is also suitable for all types of glands.

Ingredients for four people

1 pink grapefruit 2-3 raw beetroot, peeled. Finely grated or cut into small strips1 sweet apple

For the salad dressing:

4 tablespoons of walnut or hazelnut oil3 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar2 tablespoons of crème fraîche1 pinch of paprika or rose paprika salted pepper from the mill

3 tablespoons of tree or hazelnuts, roughly chopped

That's how it's done:

Peel the grapefruit with a sharp knife, also remove the bitter white skin, trigger the fillets, collecting the juice. For the salad dressing, stir in the oil, vinegar, crème fraiche, paprika, salt and pepper and add the collected grapefruit juice.

Finely grate the apple with the peel, add to the beetroot and mix immediately with the salad dressing. Serve the salad on plates, garnish with the grapefruit fillets and nuts. Serves with rye bread (1 slice per person)
