"Obesity - lose at least 10 pounds!" The words that a doctor bumped into, that I visited when I was 19, have dug deep into my subconscious mind. I've always been chubby, but at the same time engaging and physically active. Why, despite my joy in movement and numerous dietary attempts, I increased rather than decreased, did not explain myself until I received the diagnosis of lipoedema. With this lipid metabolism disorder, it is difficult to get slim, the next doctor discouraged me. But I did not want to accept that!
In 2016, I visited with my husband the stage program "I am slim then" by Patric Heizmann. I immediately liked how he packed the topics of weight loss and nutrition in an entertaining way. For the first time, my desire to slim down did not feel like an unattainable goal, but like a fun-loving project! Subconsciously his messages probably grabbed me right away: Because I started to implement some of his advice without any intentions: to buy meat from organic farmers around the corner, to prefer regional food - and to make sure in the supermarket that a product is no more than contains five ingredients. Because I was suddenly totally motivated, I also signed up for Patric Heizmann's online weight loss program "Lighter than you think". Thanks to his simple explanations, I found out how poorly my body actually tolerates carbohydrates. Today I usually leave bread and potatoes, pasta and rice away. This sounds more brutal than it actually is: in fact, I have just rebuilt our favorite dishes that I cook for my family: Goulash, for example, we eat cucumber salad, not potatoes. And for Bolognese I cook cauliflower instead of pasta.

Fortunately, the modified dishes taste as good to my family as they do to me. That they are so great, gives me tremendous strength. My daughter made me a box with motivational slogans. And recently we played "The Perfect Family Dinner". A diet program where I would have to eat something different than husband and children was out of the question for me. I am working and need uncomplicated, fast solutions that can be easily implemented in everyday life. I've gotten completely sick of snacking: instead of snacking and nibbling, I eat my fill at the three main meals and take a five-hour break between them. A latte macchiato in the morning is my praline. In the evening I make myself comfortable with a pot of tea. When we go out with friends, water comes into my wine glass: nicely dressed with ice cubes, straw and frozen berries. I also drank water from beer mugs and schnapps glasses! The main thing is that I do not have to lose sociability. I continue to enjoy sports, only that everything feels much easier now. I enjoy to the fullest, to be slim at last. In addition, it fills me that, through my work as a coach, I can also encourage and motivate other people who want to lose weight!
