Do it yourself

Even in the garden, it should go individually this summer. With our instructions, you can do everything you need for gardening yourself.

You need this for the basket:

  • Patterned piece of oilcloth 12 x 27 cm
  • Embroidery thread in dark blue
  • ruler
  • Scheider chalk
  • Cloth scissors sewing machine with matching yarn
  • pins
  • embroidery needle
  • Flower: Begonia

And that's how easy it is:

1. Cut the oilcloth.

2. Turn over all edges one cm each and stitch with the sewing machine.

3. Place the oilcloth in the center of the bag and secure with pins.

4. Sew both short edges 0.5 cm from the edge, sewn to the pocket in the first stitch.

5. Sew a second seam on each side, 6 cm apart.

6. Sew last seam again at a distance of 6 cm, this time from one side, sew. There are three 6 cm and one 8 cm sewn-off compartments for garden tools.

That's what you need for this garden idea:

  • 2 empty plastic bottles
  • ruler
  • Permanent marker
  • cutter
  • Two flowerpots
  • potting soil
  • seeds

And that's how easy it is:

1. Measure 15 cm from the bottle stopper and mark with a waterproof pen.

2. Pierce with the cutter in the marked area and cut once around.

3. Fill the flowerpot with soil and seeds, pour on and put over the cut-off bottle sleeve.

You need this for the garden apron:

  • old jeans
  • Schrägband
  • floral fabric
  • Lace border about 4 cm wide
  • fabric scissors
  • seam ripper
  • French chalk
  • pins
  • Sewing machine with matching yarn

And that's how easy it is:

1. Cut trouser legs about 2 cm below the back pockets. Cut also longitudinal seams so that you only have the "buttocks" of a pair of jeans in front of you.

2. Round off lower corners of the jeans piece with scissors.

3. Put the bias tape around the cut edges of the jeans and secure with pins.

4. Stitch the bias binding with the sewing machine.

5. Separate one of the two trouser pockets with the seam divider from the jeans.

6. Place the trouser pocket on the flowered fabric and leave it at a distance of 1 cm with the tailor's tool. Then crop.

7. Turn the edge of the flowered fabric 1 cm and fix with pins. Cut lace border to pocket size plus 1 cm and attach flush with pins at the top of the trouser pocket.

8. Then sew the top of the trouser pocket together with the floral fabric and lace trim.

9. Put trouser pocket back on the separated place and fix with pins.

10. Touch the bag back to the jeans (do not sew the opening!)

11. For the second trouser pocket, cut a strip of the flowered fabric 5 cm times the pocket width plus 2 cm seam allowance. Fringes stripes.

12. Place strips in the middle of the trouser pocket and fix with pins. Stitch both edges and a central partition with the sewing machine.

13. From the remnant of the two denim shorts sew two 5 cm wide and arbitrarily long (measured on your own hip width) jeans hoses.

14. Sew both jeans tubes flush with the upper edge (waistband) on the apron.
