Supporting act very big

Side tables are much more than just practical shelves. The little supporting actors quickly become the main actor with a few simple steps.

What you need for this side table:

  • Old tire, z. B. from a moped
  • A round wooden plate that has the diameter of the inside of the tire so that it fits into the tire
  • Small screws
  • approx. 30 m rope (rope)
  • cordless drill
  • Hot glue gun and hot glue

And that's how easy it is:

1.Cut the wood panel in the building market according to the size of the tire.

2. To fix the plate on the tire with the drill, pre-drill small holes in the edge of the plate.

3. Fasten the screws in the plate and tire with the drill.

4. Attach rope to the tire from the bottom to the top with hot glue.

5. Stick rope up to the center of the plate in tight circles.

6. When the center has been reached, shorten and glue the end if necessary.

What you need for the side table made of concrete:

  • Portland cement (hardware store)
  • Quartz sand (hardware store)
  • Bowl for mixing
  • old whisk and wooden spoon to stir
  • Plastic bucket with a diameter of about 30 cm, possibly also slightly smaller
  • Roundwood with a diameter of 3.5 cm and 50 cm length (hardware store)
  • Cutter or flower scissors for cutting the bucket
  • masking tape
  • Spray paint in white (hardware store)
  • Paper for the work surface

And that's how easy it is:

1. Mix concrete by mixing Portland cement and quartz sand in equal proportions and then pouring water until the concrete has a pudding-like consistency. Pour into a large, not too firm plastic bucket. First fill in a layer about 4 cm thick and let it harden for one day.

2. If the first layer is dry, mix another amount of concrete. Then the roundwoods are placed in the bucket. Make sure that they are evenly spaced and not too close to the edge of the bucket.

3. Now cast concrete again about 6-7 cm high in the bucket, the legs can also be rearranged later.

4. Allow the side table to harden well, approx. 3-4 days!

5. Cut the bucket with a cutter or a pair of flower scissors and expose the table.

6. Mask with Malerkrepp the legs in the lower third and spray the legs white with spray paint. Let the paint dry.
