Freshly set up!

Warm wood, textiles and patterns quickly create a feel-good atmosphere in a sober kitchen. In addition: What you can do with tabletop so everything.

PREVIOUSLY

Completely in white and stainless steel, the kitchen seemed clean and modern, cosiness sought but in vain. Naked walls and bare windows reinforced this impression. Living atmosphere and storage space were high on the wish list.

LATER

The rustic wood of the table, bench and chairs makes the kitchen feel a lot more inviting. And it is also used on the wall: In addition to eye-catching ornamental wallpaper, black extractor hood and decorative table surface, open shelves give the sober fitted kitchen more warmth. Textiles such as pillows, table runners and translucent Roman blinds underline the cozy touch.

Seen from above

The direct access to the terrace makes the almost 16 square meters large kitchen to the much used room. The centerpiece is the large dining table, around which everything turns. Complemented with a bench and chairs, it invites you to enjoy a meal or snooze. Half-height cabinets opposite the kitchen complement the existing storage space in a homely way.

On the trigger

Tucked away on open shelves, cooking utensils and ingredients around the cooker are within easy reach. As a counterpart to the dining table their wood is a charming contrast to the wallpaper. Tip: So that the wallpaper remains beautiful for a long time, we have mounted behind the stove a glass plate as a splash guard.

Like a red thread, the board theme runs through the room and does not stop at the table. Instead of place cards, lacquered napkin rings are personalized with chalk. Sets, napkins and glasses in light blue and green bring freshness to the rustic wooden table.

DIY tip: namesake

Tagged pots help with the herbal choice. For this you need flower pots, spray paint, label sticker, chalk pen.

And this is how it works: Paint clay pots with spray paint, put labels from blackboard foil according to manufacturer's instructions (eg Klebefieber.de) on the pot and label with a chalk pen.

1. Panel color can be applied with a brush or roller. Paint the paint crosswise in several layers. It is ideally suited for all smooth surfaces such as wood, metal, plastic or wallpaper.

2. To prepare the surface with a dry cloth to remove dust, dirt or grease particles, then the color adheres better.

3. After 48 hours, the paint is ready to use and can be written in chalk or sponge
and water are wiped off. An alternative to color is blackboard foil. It can be removed just as quickly and without residue as it is applied.
