The cause for the new rumors are six love letters from the heir apparent to his former girlfriend Janet Jenkins, which were recently auctioned on the Internet auction site Ebay. An anonymous buyer paid the equivalent of 22 000 euros for it.
Charles was only 26 years old when in 1975 he met the then 30-year-old receptionist at the British Consulate in Montreal, Canada. From then on, the successor to the throne and the Welsh native met regularly over many years again and again. All the letters bear witness to a great deal of emotion: "I wish I could come across the Atlantic so you would not be so lonely, " Charles wrote on 6 July 1976.
In another letter, he reflects on where they might both meet for a romantic evening: "I think your apartment is the best and quietest place, and if we go out in public, it will generate too much attention."
Love letters of a heir to the throne - they alone are already spectacular. But what the rumor mill is now particularly hot is the fact that Janet Jenkins gave birth to a son on June 13, 1984.
Because allegedly their affair with Charles should have been finished only 1992. And the features of her son Jason are strikingly similar to those of Prince William! Sure that there is now a whisper, William and Harry (24) could have a previously unknown half-brother. But that is unconfirmed so far. At the court one shrouds in silence.
