You love the happy patchwork look? Then we'll show you how to sew this pretty bag by yourself.

What you need for the patchwork bag:

  • Patchwork fabric, approx. 2 m (eg "Portobello / Pembridge" by Camengo)
  • fusible web
  • matching yarn
  • scissors
  • pins
  • sewing machine
  • tape measure
  • French chalk
  • Iron

And that's how easy it is:

1. First, have the printed cut copy twice in the copy shop increased by 250%. The cut template for download can be found here.

2. Cut out the individual parts from the cut. From the second copy just cut out the bottom (3). Fold the fabric lengthwise right to right. Now pin the pieces on the fabric and cut them out. Pin cut patterns with the imprint "break" on the break of the fabric. Total required: 2 x main section (1) 8 x handles (2) 1 x floor (3) 2 x side panels (4) 2 x decorative band (5)

3. To reinforce the handle and the decorative band, also cut four handles (2) and two decorative ribbons (5) made of a non-woven fabric.

4. Now place the cut batting with the stapled side on the left side of the outer fabric of four handles and the decorative ribbons and iron with light steam.

5. Pinch the lines drawn in the curves of the two main sections and trace the cuts using the cutter chalk on the main parts (1). Now sew together the respective horizontal lines 0, 5 cm. Repeat at all strokes. Thus the box folds arise.

6. Then place a decorative band (5) on top right to top right of each main body (2). Sew with a seam allowance of 1.3 cm on each main body. Put the folds to the outer side.

7. Using the scissors, pinch small V-cuts into the seam allowance of the curves on the main parts and iron the seam allowance upwards. Then with a narrow seam stitch.

8. Lay the four handles (2) with the batting fleece right to right on each main body so that the curves of the handle and the main body come to rest on each other. Now sew Henkel on main parts. Seam allowance 1.3 cm. Repeat the curtain on all four handles.

9. Merge the main parts right to right and sew the narrow ends of the handles together. Seam allowance 1.3 cm. Iron out seams.

10. Sew the side panels (4) to the right and right sides of the main body (main body to side panel to main body to side panel). Sewing allowance 1.3 cm. Iron out seams.

11. Pin the bottom (3) right and right to the main and side panels and sew around once with a seam allowance of 1.3 cm.

12. Sew the remaining handles together at the narrow end and now right to right at the outer rounding of the pocket stitches. Flip handle and iron.

13. Iron all open edges and curves 1.3 cm and secure. Sew the bag around the openings with a narrow seam.

14. Sew the seam on which the handles were fastened to the bag narrowly. So also the handle is sewn inside the bag with.
