The billingWhy we should not save on food: The wallet as a weapon!

There is a price war at the discounters. For some days it's about the sausage. And for the meat. A pound of minced meat that costs less than a can of cat food. Can that work out?

Nutrition specialist Patric Heizmann makes the problem of our food clear: Only 13% of the income we invest in our food. This is the lowest value in the whole of Europe. The food market is extremely competitive. And it's tough. Not only for the almost rightless animals. But also for the producers. After all, anyone who wants to get involved in the big business of the nationwide discounter lives just above the limit of existence. Or sometimes just under it, if the price war threatens. To hold on somehow then means the motto. Until the competitor kicks off and air is up again.

Not only the animals suffer ...

Specialist Patric Heizmann puts the facts on the table: apart from the animals, the consumer suffers even more. Not in here and now. But rather the day after tomorrow. Because sooner or later the quality of the meat, which is supplied with foreign food, affects our own meat as well. If chickens are so stuffed with antibiotics that can be detected in the eaten bird meat, then at least it becomes clear why the chicken soup is so good for colds today. But what happens then with the sensitive bacteria of the intestinal flora, which ultimately represent the most important barrier for potential invaders?

Anyone who expects his meat and sausage producer to kiss his chickens in the morning and massage the udders of his cows with baby oil before they are milked, also believes in Santa Claus. The farmer has to work with margins that are so low that in the evening he is likely to be grazing on the meadow himself in order to get full somehow ...

The expert says: "The most successful weapon is the purse"

We like to blame the "sick meat" on the others, the producers. It's easier. Because we do not have to change anything. Learned helplessness. It is we who conjure up precisely these catastrophic conditions of mass animal husbandry. We decide with our purse. Day after day. Of course, the consumer buys where it's cheap. Especially when the money is tight. Who wants to condemn that? But not everyone has a tight box. And yet cheap shopping is operated. Because healthy food has a relatively low level compared to status symbols, mobility and the latest electronic gadgets.

Bad ingredients in our food make us ill in the long run. Learn in my webinar how you can actively do something for your health in everyday life.

Exactly that is dangerous: Even if we refuel today cheap "fuel" (Industriellepangtes), running our "engine" (the organism) to the limit often without twitch, jerk and moan. Until a system crash announces, which would then be held only under maximum effort.

Good that there is then as a last resort, the pharmaceutical industry and doctors. The should then bring the "engine" back to work. Somehow. It will not run as smoothly as the 30 on the left, but you will be able to continue investing in the cheapest food waste. To then show the co-workers the latest vacation photos on the newest smartphone for a few more years. Our expert gives a few tips for the future:

Bio? Logical!

This should be a call. At least to the financially stronger of the society. The investment in food from regional cultivation (eg recognizable on the label "regional window" - which also at the same time the Ökobilanz aufhübscht). And in food with organic labels. There is at least a certain standard, which of course can be improved, but moves in the right direction. If you want to be on the safe side, buy only products with Demeter seal. They pick their pigs only when the moon is full, when Venus sleeps in the third window of Neptune .... or something like that.

Think outside the box

Have you ever tasted tofu? Although the natural version tastes like cut-resistant water. But now there are the tasteless blocks also with various herbs ready to buy. And if you are brave and try it instead of meat, a few of you will certainly stay and eat there and eat unpalatable, drug-free final soy products. Maybe free from genetic changes. But that would be another topic ...
